Slash X Kim The Butcher Happy Place 2027
Kim the Butcher, originally from a small village in Luxembourg, grew up surrounded by the family butcher shop, skateboarding, and snowboarding. Drawing became a constant, and dark, skull-filled motifs naturally found their way into his creative universe.
Today, Kim works as a graphic designer while channeling his passion for illustration and snowboarding culture into projects that blur the line between art and lifestyle.
Snowboarding has been central to his life since 1991, when he first strapped in at Zauchensee, Austria. What draws him is the thrill of fear, the camaraderie with friends, and the subculture that surrounds boards, stickers, and artwork.
For Kim, snowboards are canvases — a space where DIY culture and personal taste converge, inspiring his work as an illustrator. His Happy Place graphic for Slash reflects a darker, spiritual side — skulls, thistles, and cycles of life and death symbolize resilience, resistance, and self-made happiness.
It's a reminder that a happy place is personal: it's one you cultivate yourself.
